Driving conditions:

Bolivia has the distinction of having some of the worst roads in the Americas. This, coupled with harsh temperatures and high altitudes combine to make driving in this country a real challenge. Particularly difficult roads include Potosi to Uyuni, Uyuni to Oruro and Uyuni to Tupiza.

Recommended roads:

There is nothing quite as exhilarating as driving on the Salar de Uyuni by motorcycle. The Salar is the largest salt flat on earth and is surprisingly easy to drive on. Having said that, be sure to give your bike a good rinse once your ride finishes!

Police and military:

The is almost no police presence that we noticed in Bolivia. But social unrest and protests are common and often take the form of blocked roads.

Services:

The are no BMW shops in Bolivia
