Planes suck PDF Print E-mail

Getting from Singapore to Argentina by plane helped remind us of why we enjoy traveling by motorcycle so much. For example, when you have to go to the bathroom while on a ride, you don't have to wait in line in a narrow alley with your legs crossed hoping that the little green light will turn on before you make a mess. On a bike, you piss wherever you want.
By bike, if the little fellow manning the petrol pump accidently tries to put diesel in your tank you can always point out the error of his ways before he does too much damage. But who, may I ask, keeps an eye on the little fellow manning the pumps at the Madras “international” airport in India?
When riding, if you get fed up you just pull over and kill the engine. The total silence that results is particularly soothing. In a plane, total silence tends to cause considerable stress.

But I must admit that 50 hours in the air to cover 20000 kilometers is quick. At least, it is much quicker than taking 6 months to cover the same distance by motorcycle.

But between the shipping of the bike in Malaysia and taking the first of 5 flights to get here, we had a wonderful time with Aaron and Eva in Singapore. They have a nice apartment in a complex that offers all kinds of activities. So we spent our time having BBQs (practicing for Argentina), swimming in one of the pools and we even played tennis. It was a great rest and we can't wait to see them again, hopefully they will visit us in Canada!
