Our plan is to get from Montreal, Québec, to Calcutta, India. But rather than fly the bike to Europe and start there we are taking a detour to Tierra Del Fuego, the tip of South America.

Basically the trip can be separated into 5 parts (details of which are written below) which will be done consecutively.

Update: We went on after India, as you will see below. When we travelled we always made decisions on-the-go and altered our plans. We thoroughly enjoyed India, but we also wanted to go on and visit more of the world!

Part 1-Canada to Panama (completed)

We started the trip on October 4th, 2007 and spent 6 months getting to Panama.

Part 2-Colombia to Argentina (Completed)

We arrived in Colombia in March of 2008 and got to Argentina in mid-July 2008. We spent a lot of time visiting the countries around Argentina, and Argentina itself, during July 2008 to January 2009.

Part 3-Belgium to Nepal (Completed)

We did this leg of our around the world trip kind of fast owing to the high costs of being in Europe. We arrived in Belgium in mid-February 2009 after a 1 month voyage on a cargo ship to cross the Atlantic and left Nepal for Thailand by plane (with the bike) on the 22nd of June 2009. We did not stop  in India as planned, even though we enjoyed it a lot, as we were itching to travel and go on.

Part 4-Thailand to Singapore (Completed)

We have visited Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore from June to October 2009. We put the motorcycle on a boat from Malaysia and we flew from Singapore to Argentina. (sorry, no map yet)

Part 5 - Going home via South-America (Completed)

South-America left a very positive impression on us so we went back there after South-East Asia and slowly made our way back home. We flew the bike and ourselves from Colombia to Panama in March. We also travelled across Canada from Vancouver to New Richmond (Baie des Chaleurs, QC) but did not have the chance to go all the way to New Foundland (for next time!).
